The San Jose Sharks obtained the first pick in the 2024 NHL draft lottery on May 7, allowing them to choose Macklin Celebrini, a forward from Boston University. The Sharks had the highest chance of getting the first pick at 18.5 percent. After the drawing, it was revealed that San Jose was the winner.
