The person who started and used to be the CEO of digital money exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao, has been declared the richest person in the digital money world for the third year in a row as Forbes reveals the big shots in the digital money industry.
Famously called CZ, Zhao's value is now approximately $33 billion, up from $10.5 billion last year, and he is the 50th wealthiest person in the world.
Even though he admitted to being guilty of U.S. money cleaning charges in November, Forbes stated that CZ, who is now the biggest winner in the digital money area in terms of dollars, since last year, earned most of his money from owning most of Binance, which is still the biggest global trading place in the industry by volume.
Likewise, the CEO of MicroStrategy, Michael Saylor, has seen his total value rise to about $4.4 billion, compared to $760 million the year before, thanks to MicroStrategy’s strong investments in Bitcoin.
In the same way, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong's total value has reached an estimated $11.2 billion, up from $2.2 billion, boosted by the outstanding performance of Coinbase’s shares, which have more than quadrupled in the past 12 months. SEE FULL CRYPTO RICH LIST
