Fast-emerging boxer, Raheem ‘Baddo’ Animashaun, is determined to penalize the more experienced Samuel ‘Apata Roro’ Moses, in their national welterweight challenge at GOtv Boxing Night 31.
The boxing event, set for the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, on May 1, will include seven fights, such as a West African Boxing Union title match between Nigerians Adeyemi ‘Spirit’ Adekanla, and current champion, Segun ‘War’ Adeyemi.
Before the fight, ‘Baddo’ stated, “I accepted this fight to demonstrate how skilled I am. People talk about experience, but I will show that age is just a number in boxing. How long can he last? How strong is ‘Apata Roro’? I have what it takes to defeat him, and I will surprise him.”
The Ibadan-based ‘Apata Roro’ has a record of two wins, one draw and nine defeats, while Baddo has two wins from two professional fights.
Also on the night's schedule is a national flyweight challenge between current champion, Sifon ‘Best’ Iwatt, and Sikiru Ogunyaju. The national lightweight category has Emmanuel Abimbola facing off against Azeez Ayobami; Afikun Gbenga competing against Adewale Oladeji in a super welterweight challenge fight; Hammed ‘Ese’ Ganiyu challenging Yusuf Ogunbumi in the light welterweight category, while Sikiru ‘Omo Iya Eleja’ Shogbesan and Arabambi ‘Power’ Ojo will battle in the super featherweight category.
