A man from Halifax has been accused of attempting to kill someone after an event that led to a woman being quickly taken to the hospital with very serious injuries, according to the police.
Halifax Regional Police said in a statement that officers went to an apartment building on South Park Street around 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday in response to a physical altercation.
“Officers found a woman with very serious injuries. A 56-year-old man, who is familiar to the victim, was arrested at the location,” police said.

The man is set to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Thursday to deal with accusations of trying to murder, causing serious harm, and using a weapon to attack someone.
