There was noticeable anxiety in the Old-Kuyelo community in the Birnin Bwari area of Kaduna State when terrorists entered the community on Tuesday night.
The Secretary-General, Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressive Union, Abdulrashid Abarshi, verified the incident to PUNCH Online on Thursday.
According to Abarshi, the terrorists attacked the old Kuyello town, causing residents to leave their communities out of fear of being kidnapped.
Abarshi stated, “We received information that the terrorists have been in old Kuyello and Shadow Village since Tuesday without any challenge by the Nigerian security operatives
“We appeal to the Nigerian military as a matter of urgency to deploy security operatives to restore normalcy in those villages.”
He noted that other than Birnin Gwari town, old-Kuyello is the next biggest town.
“The terrorists are currently in the Village, and we fear they may be planning to take over the village and settle there,” Abarshi added.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to calls and a text message sent to him by our correspondent as of the time of filing this report.
