Comedian, Wofai Fada, has shared a video on her Instagram page with the message “Let love lead” to her 1.2 million followers amid the disputes about her marriage to Taiwo Cole.
The couple's traditional wedding took place in Ugep, Cross River State, on Saturday.
However, Cole’s family publicly rejected the engagement in a viral disclaimer.
The family patriarch, Kunle Cole, issued a statement distancing the family from the union, stating that they were unaware of the marriage plans and did not give their consent or support.
“This is to inform all acquaintances, family, and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island, Lagos, are not informed about any marriage ceremony of our son, Taiwo Olakitan Cole; neither did we give permission nor support in this matter,” the statement read.
The statement also mentioned, “Therefore, the individuals presenting themselves as new members of the Cole heritage through this supposed event are not recognized nor accepted by the family. All publications and documents regarding this should be ignored.”
The actress, on the other hand, went on her page to share videos and pictures from the traditional rites.
In one of the posts titled “A Queen and Her King,” the couple, dressed in traditional Cross River clothing, were seen happily together.
Meanwhile, Kehinde Cole, the twin sister of Wofai’s husband, has extended her good wishes to the new couple.
Unfazed by her family’s denial, Kehinde expressed her congratulations to the union.
“Congratulations to my twin brother and my new sister in love – your union is blessed with love,” she posted on X on Sunday.
